Our 12-month industrial placement scheme for undergraduates has been established for more than 20 years and is featured on a regular basis in the Rate My Placement Top Employer guide. As an experienced professional who has taken a break from the workforce, this is your opportunity to re-engage your skills and re-power your career. Co-sponsored with the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) + iRelaunch STEM Re-entry Task Force Initiative, our 6-month paid internship provides you with projects that match your specialist expertise, interests, and abilities. EXTRAORDINARY TECHNOLOGY NEEDS EXTRAORDINARY TECHNICIANS

Cummins apprentices gain the extraordinary opportunity to work alongside and learn from Cummins' most outstanding technicians in the field, but also get an education at the same time. With opportunities ranging from heavy-diesel focus to power generation focus and everything in between, you're sure to get a hands-on education supported by cutting edge technology.

SERVICE TECHNICIAN PROGRAM

You will learn and help service, maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnosing our engines in support of our customers. This apprentice program focuses on developing your analytical, personal and technical skills. In each year of the program, you will receive both on-site and online training (up to 300 hours a year) in partnership with accredited regional and/or technical schools.

ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN PROGRAM

You will learn and help with product testing, component prototypes and support for scientific and engineering development of new platforms and engine technology. This apprentice program focuses on developing your engineering, personal and technical skills.

POWERING YOUR FUTURE

In addition to on-the-job training, you will receive online, hands-on classroom training that will put you at the forefront of technology. On a daily basis, you will work with experienced technicians on a wide variety of engine platforms and equipment.

Service technician opportunities

ENGINE & POWER GENERATION TECHNICIAN TRAINING

Top students at approved technical colleges, or strong candidates with related work experience, including military training, can take their technology skills to the next level at Cummins Technician University. Our training programs are designed to provide rigorous, in-depth training on
many of the products offered by Cummins and supported by our network of service locations. Both programs are currently being offered to diesel engine technology students who have completed a qualifying diesel technology program at an approved institution.

ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY, TRAINING AND TEAMS

At Cummins, we lead the way when it comes to engine and component technology. Product technology updates mean new training, new challenges and lots of variety. No sooner have we designed a new market-leading product, for a train, a power generator, a boat or a huge mining drill, then we’re looking for ways to improve on it.

Our field and shop service technicians enjoy the stability that comes with working for an industry leader and the flexibility of a diverse work environment. Your day may include uploading and testing the latest ECM codes, tweaking the idle on an RV generator, or rebuilding a 30-liter engine. Whether you’re in the shop or out in the field, you’ll be part of a team that pulls together to give our customers the very best service - every time.
