Overview:
More With Less.
The inline 4-cylinder F3.8 delivers 10 percent more power and almost 20 percent more torque across the entire RPM range. EGR-free architecture reduces complexity and improves reliability. Not only do you get more power - you use less fuel, with total fluid efficiency (includes both fuel and Diesel Exhaust Fluid) improved by up to 3 percent. Equipment used in duty cycles with frequent idling can improve fuel economy even more with Cummins Stop-Start technology.
The Single Module™ aftertreatment system combines DPF, SCR and urea dosing in one unit which takes up 50 percent less space and weighs 30 percent less than the prior system. This new technology is virtually “fit and forget” as it operates almost entirely through passive regeneration and extends your service cleaning interval significantly beyond the 5000 hours of today’s systems.
Multiple component options allow for easier installation and maintenance. These include a choice of front- or rear-sump oil pan locations, on-engine or remote-mounted options for ECM and maintenance filters, a new Front-Engine PTO option, plus your choice of three turbocharger orientations; high-mount rear, front-out or mid-mount.
A Cummins-designed wastegated turbo is matched specifically to deliver the exact amount of air to the combustion chamber for ideal performance.
High sulfur tolerance allows OEMs to install the F3.8 in equipment destined for use virtually anywhere around the globe.
F3.8 owners will also benefit from Cummins Connected Diagnostics™, remote monitoring technology that wirelessly connects the user’s engine to Cummins experts for instant analysis and recommended action the moment a fault code is generated on any piece of equipment equipped with a telematics. It is also available with Cummins Guidanz™ technology, which provides a seamless, process-guided package that streamlines the diagnosis and repair process, ensuring that the right parts, tools and support can be brought onsite to speed up repairs.
The new F3.8 for 2019 delivers more machine capability and more uptime while it lowers the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) - so equipment users can do more with less.
